Goyrabobo

  The goyrabobo (Zancronish for "greedy buzzard",) often referred to as the kite'o'night or devil's crow in colloquial English, is a species of large flying nocturnal monster that makes its home in seaside cliffs and rocky archipelagos of Terth.

  The most noteworthy characteristic of the creature is its obsession with hoarding. Literally anything that captures its attention and is light enough to be flown off with, it will attempt to carry back to its den. And literally anything doesn't just mean "literally anything of use to it" or "literally anything inanimate," it means literally ANYTHING. They are quite infamous for their habit of kidnapping small pets and children that they have no interest in eating (they live almost exclusively on shellfish and algae) and keeping them as prisoners for as long as they live, seemingly just for the sake of keeping them. Due to their sneaky and kleptomaniacal behavior, goyrabobos are often used as symbols of loss and misfortune in the art and literature of coastal civilizations.

  While the creatures cause quite a bit of grief on their own, they're at their worst when tamed and trained by more intelligent and organized monsters. Although they're rather cowardly and not particularly threatening on their own, they've allowed the Zancronies to easily swipe weapons and technologies that they would otherwise have struggled to get their scaly mitts on, and there have been countless stories of people who were abducted by goyrabobos as children and grew up to be bandits and mercenaries who work for the monster horde.
